Revolutionaries and the Spanish Civil War expositions The Spanish Civil War laid the foundation for the mass obliteration and strife that was to accompanied World War II. The Civil war was a fight among the left, pitting socialism versus dictatorship. There were a wide range of gatherings battling for each side, the most significant, rebels.
